Friday is a new event series by Wkshps, somewhere-in-the-world mid-day meetups that pair compelling, interdisciplinary thinkers in conversation for the first time, while also playing with formats and having some fun. Our hope is that Friday can make Friday feel like Friday again.

For our first Friday, Wkshps will talk with artist Julie Mehretu and writer Elvia Wilk about architecture, the spiritual dimensions of space, and the experiential conditions that allow for physical and virtual communities to emerge. By design, Friday is their first encounter, but we bet they’ll have plenty to share when it comes to imagining spaces for art and social interaction in the near future. Plus, we have a hunch that they both like to dance!
